Allco Warranties

Our Warranties Explained

Waterproofing requirements vary significantly depending on job complexity, site conditions, and technical specifications, and your warranty should reflect that.

At Allco, we offer two types of warranties: Product Warranty and System Warranty. Each covers different aspects and has distinct prerequisites.

Product Warranty

Our Product Warranty covers the quality and integrity of the waterproofing product for 20 years. However, the installation of the membrane is not covered under this warranty—it is instead warranted by the applicator.

When used as standalone items, our accessories carry a 1-year product warranty.

System Warranty

Our System Warranty is a comprehensive warranty that covers both the product and its installation for 20 years.

This warranty is available for:

  • Tanking projects using our Volclay range
  • Roofing projects, on a case-by-case basis

To qualify, the Architect, Engineer, or Specifier must request the warranty early in the design phase. This allows Allco to:

  • Review the specification, and
  • Recommend a list of approved applicators to carry out the installation.

Only a selected group of applicators is approved for System Warranty projects.

Allco stays involved throughout the entire process, providing:

  • A pre-installation meeting
  • Regular site visits, and
  • Documentation at key stages

This approach offers greater assurance to specifiers, contractors, and building owners.

IMPORTANT: While early request is crucial, the warranty will only be confirmed and issued at project completion, once Allco is satisfied that all steps and prerequisites have been met, in accordance with our System Warranty Project Responsibilities document.

To qualify for a System Warranty, all parties -designers, contractors, and applicators - must meet specific requirements.

Below are the key responsibilities for designers, contractors, and applicators.

SYSTEM WARRANTY – PROJECT RESPONSIBILITIES

- The project must have a minimum 200 sqm footprint (approx. 500 sqm total project area) of Allco-supplied products.

- The project must be a full encapsulation (including footings, slab, or all below-grade structure).

- Notify Allco and submit drawings for review at least 2 weeks prior to building consent submission.

- Installation must be completed by a System Warranty Approved Applicator (see Allco’s website for the current list).

- If the site has suspected contaminated soil or high salinity, a water test must be undertaken, and results shared with Allco so the appropriate membrane can be recommended.

- Ensure drawings have been reviewed and approved by Allco at least 4 weeks prior to construction.

- Arrange a pre-installation meeting with the approved applicator, Allco’s TA team, steel fixers, concreters, and other relevant parties.

- If the site is hydrostatic or prone to water collection during construction, implement adequate water control measures before, during, and after construction.

- Prevent any contractor from walking on wet or hydrated membranes.

- Contact the applicator or Allco TA team for inspections if the membrane’s integrity may have been compromised.

- Use appropriate protection materials to maintain membrane integrity until backfill or concrete pour is completed.

- Ensure backfilling is done as per Allco’s backfill document (available on our website or via your applicator).

- Notify the applicator once backfilling is complete to allow a QA inspection.

- If shotcrete is to be used in conjunction with Allco products, consult Allco prior to construction start, as this may affect warranty eligibility.

Ensure drawings are reviewed and approved by Allco at least 4 weeks before construction.

Attend the pre-installation meeting with the main contractor, steel fixers, concreters, etc.

If the site is hydrostatic or prone to water collection, ensure adequate water control measures are in place at all times.

Use Waterstop RX on all concrete cold joints.

Notify the Allco TA team at least 48 hours in advance of all major project stages.

Follow Allco’s QA requirements using a digital QA system, such as CONQA, or another pre-approved third-party system.

Collect and submit clear photographic evidence showing pre-, during-, and post-installation stages, along with completed checklists.

Ensure backfill is completed promptly and in accordance with Allco’s requirements.

All installers on site must be approved, trained, and licensed by Allco, and affiliated with an approved applicator company.

Submit the Warranty Request Form at project completion, including all associated QA documentation.

Provide Allco with a valid 10-Year Installation/Workmanship Warranty.

Supply the System Warranty Certificate and the System Care & Maintenance Plan to the project owner or main contractor.

Failure to comply with Allco's QA process may void or reduce System Warranty coverage.
