With over 50 years of proven performance, the Volclay Voltex range offers comprehensive waterproofing solutions for both vertical and horizontal foundation surfaces. Each system incorporates the high-swelling, self-sealing properties of sodium bentonite, forming a durable, low-permeable membrane designed to protect structures from water ingress. These membranes are designed to be easily installed, withstand inclement weather, and maintain superior durability during construction.
All Voltex products combine advanced geotextile technology, ensuring that they can handle various site conditions and construction demands, making them a trusted choice for below-ground waterproofing.

Voltex Standard is a versatile waterproofing solution ideal for most vertical and horizontal below-ground applications. It offers reliable protection against water ingress and forms a durable waterproofing layer once hydrated.
Voltex DS enhances the proven capabilities of Voltex Standard by incorporating a high-strength HDPE liner for superior chemical resistance, extremely low water vapour, and gas permeability. It’s ideal for environments that demand extra durability.
Voltex SWR offers the same superior waterproofing as Voltex DS but is specially designed for saltwater or high-salinity environments. It incorporates a saltwater-resistant bentonite for challenging conditions where standard membranes might fail.
Features
Sodium Bentonite-Based
All Voltex products leverage high-swelling sodium bentonite encapsulated within robust geotextiles, providing self-sealing capabilities that protect against water ingress and small concrete cracks caused by ground settlement, shrinkage, or seismic action.
Strong Mechanical Bond
Each product forms a powerful mechanical bond to concrete when the geotextile fibres are encapsulated into poured-in-place concrete surfaces.
Durable and Weather-Resistant
The needle-punched geotextile composite construction ensures resistance to site-related damage, such as reinforcement steel placement, inclement weather, or accidental cuts, which self-heal when hydrated. The dropping of heavy articles will normally have no damaging effect on the membrane.
Self-Healing
Voltex self-healing properties also allow for the nailing of the product with conventional construction fasteners. It will also self-seal small cracks caused by concrete shrinkage or seismic action.
Fast and Easy Installation
Voltex membranes can be installed in virtually any weather and over green concrete without primers, adhesives, or the need for a mud slab.
Direct Installation
Can be installed directly onto a prepared substrate without the need for a concrete mud slab.
Monolithic Membrane
Forms a dense, monolithic waterproofing membrane when confined under pressure.
Meets NZBC requirements
for B2 Durability: Performance B2.3.1 (a) not less than 50 years; E2 External moisture: Performance E2.3.3; F2 hazardous building materials: Performance F2.3.1.

Limitations:
Voltex should be installed on properly prepared, dry, substrates with adequate confinement, not on expansion joints or masonry block walls, and groundwater with high acidity or conductivity requires testing.
