Project requirements

Level 6 is a roof and plant room floor. The building has a two-level underground basement car park under the building footprint with an extension to the east under the laneway. The basement raft slab was in-situ concrete placed over site concrete. The basement walls consisted of full height precast panels with intermittent stitch joints. The tanking system wraps all portions of the basement, including the lift pit and slab-on-grade areas.

Due to the location of the building in the Wynyard Quarter there is a high concentration of contaminants, high water table and saline. A waterproofing membrane was required not only to handle hydrostatic pressure but also to act as a vapour barrier protecting indoor air from potential ingress of hydrocarbon vapours.

Allco Solution

Due to the levels of hydrocarbon, Coreflex was the ideal solution for this project. Coreflex consists of a reinforced thermoplastic membrane integrally bonded to a proprietary active polymer core (APC) technology layer. The two barrier materials combined provide superior waterproofing protection unmatched by any other product. As this was the first application of Coreflex within New Zealand, the installation was carried out by MPM Waterproofing and Samson Contract Services, our top installers. Installation began with a pre-installation meeting and was closely monitored by independent Quality Assurance engineers throughout the waterproofing process.

Cetco’s HydroShield Warranty consists of a twenty-year material and labour warranty. HydroShield™ Warranty is overseen and certified by an independent inspection program.
