Bellus Apartments

The Bellus Apartments is a new build apartment building, located in the East Auckland suburb of Stonefields. Consisting of 80 apartments across the five-storey building the new development includes a basement car park, gymnasium, seating area and landscaped podium with BBQ.

This project required a comprehensive tanking solution for the underground basement carpark, under footings, floor and lift pits. The site was to be non-hydrostatic, post construction and therefore dewatering was only key during construction.

The full Volclay range and accessories were used to waterproof the base of this non-hydrostatic project. The convenient access to the site meant that the tanking was able to be easily post applied. Waterstop RX was used in all cold joints along with Swelltite and Voltex membranes for ground beams/footings, lift pits and tanking, to ensure complete watertightness. Volclay Swelltite strips and Bentonite granules were applied to all pre-cast panel butt and stitch joints to complete the waterproofing of the walls.
