Shore City Takapuna – Car Park Ramp

Project requirements

The Shore City Shopping Centre Carpark ramp to Anzac Street was in dire need of a remedial work as it was leaking through to the retail zone below. The 50-year-old carpark ramp needed to be resurfaced to stop the leaks and improve safety while the shopping centre remained open to the public. 

Allco Solution

The ideal solution for this carpark ramp was Shield Membranes Mastic Asphalt (ShieldFLEX). This is a brand-new product for Allco Waterproofing and this was the first project to utilise this durable, high-performance membrane. It was expertly installed by Applicators National Waterproofing who have a great deal of experience with Mastic Asphalt. 

Shield Mastic Asphalt is a dense, waterproof, polymer modified material that consists of a mixture of bitumen, limestone, and various aggregates. Unlike standard asphalt, mastic asphalt contains no pores and is laid in a hot, molten state that solidifies to form a hard surface.
