The Project 

Designed by South Island based architects Wild Rooster Design, Inniscort Estate is a new residential build comprised of two beautiful homes in Cromwell.

PROJECT REQUIREMENT 

Located in the heart of Central Otago, Cromwell experiences extreme climates throughout the year, with very hot summers days and below freezing temperatures in winter. The location and nature of the project required a tailored solution to help maintain a consistent temperature all year round, keeping the houses warm in winter and cooler during summer and making the building more energy efficient. The project also had some design restrictions around height and existing outlets, all taken in consideration during the assessment. With that in mind, a warm roof system with custom tapered falls was the ideal solution for this project.

ALLCO SOLUTION

This project was initially specified with a different Allco product however upon collaboration with the owner, architects and Allco technical team, the ALLTHERM Warm Roof system was selected as the ideal solution. Allco’s ALLTHERM Warm Roof is a roofing system engineered and tested to ensure ultimate thermal and acoustic performance, high UV protection and long-term durability making it the ideal choice for Inniscort houses.

The JM TPO single ply membrane was chosen as the finishing surface for the roof. The light grey colour of the JM TPO membrane offers high solar reflectivity, absorbing less heat and helping keep the houses cooler during the hot summers day combined with the excellent thermal performance of the insulation panels the ALLTHERM roofing system achieves both the required R values and the required falls while keeping the design in line with the aesthetic of the build.

Allco’s Applicator Extreme Roofing carried out a seamless installation achieving a low slope roof perfect for the conditions and ideal for the installation of solar panels.
