Apollo Drive Recover Roof

The aging roof of 33-35 Apollo Drive needed an urgent solution to address the shallow internal gutter which was causing large amounts of water ingress into the business below during heavy rain events. The existing roof consists of a 0.55 gauge trapezoidal profile long run roof which was over 15 years old.

Project requirements

Challenges:

The 4-storey building is leased to multiple businesses and required a solution with minimal disruptions to the buildings’ tenants, durable and cost effective.

Allco Solution

The ALLRITE Recover Roof uses the existing metal roof as a substrate to create a low slope TPO membrane roof. The existing metal roof must be first assessed for its suitability, and if approved, insulation fingers are installed in the metal trays, overlaid with a roof coverboard and then sealed with JM TPO membrane to ensure weather tightness and durability.

Upon assessment, the trapezoidal shape metal tray of the Apollo Dr building was considered ideal for our ALLRITE Recover Roof system, meaning the building could remain in use while the work was done, keeping the tenants and businesses operational, and reducing costs associated with removing and re-pitching the old roof, saving the project time and money.

Execution and Outcomes:

A seamless installation by Approved Applicators Taurus Waterproofing ensured this was the perfect solution allowing the internal gutters overall volume to be increased while retaining the aesthetic of the building and guaranteeing durability and watertightness for years to come.

The ALLRITE Recover Roof system revitalised and extended the life span of this tired and aging roof, whilst causing no disruptions to the everyday operations of the businesses and keeping costs down.
