The Project
PROJECT REQUIREMENT
Tauranga Police Station was a simple tanking job with the installation carried out by GMR Holmac and Shotcrete Auckland in combination. The project involved the tanking of basement, piled walls, lift pits, sacrificial sheet pilling and pre-cast panel walls.
The police station is a two level high building with a one level basement. The property line wall was designed and built on a contiguous pile and shotcrete wall system. The perimeter basement was built on a precast panel wall system connected to a 450mm thick basement slab. Critical waterproofing was required at foundation beam locations, wall areas and property line walls.
SOLUTION
Voltex DS was applied to non-structural shotcrete walls and over bored contiguous piles where the property line is. Basement walls were waterproofed by Voltex casted to precast panels. Blockwork as retaining walls were waterproofed with Swelltite system post applied on site. Swelltite membrane was applied as waterproofing layer for the station podium deck.
The combination of various Allco waterproofing products provided a building that is waterproofed to external moisture that makes the building safe and comfortable to work.
