Allco is proud to have contributed to the success of the Auckland Central Library’s living roof—an ambitious project now delivering tangible environmental benefits after 18 months of in-depth monitoring by Auckland Council and Living Roofs Aotearoa.
Terraced housing and apartments have become increasingly popular due to current housing market trends and challenges. Terraced housing decks and apartment balconies provide residents with a crucial connection to outdoor spaces, allowing them to enjoy views and surroundings.
What started as a standard refurbishment and repair, evolved into a unique opportunity to create a living green roof with over two thousand low maintenance native New Zealand plants installed so far and with a further 300 to 400 plants being planted over the coming months to improve the overall coverage.
