We are aware of recent comments made about our Volclay® waterproofing product by Australian Rico Bonaldi at the NZIA conference, and we would like to put your mind at ease.

 
We acknowledge Mr Bonaldi’s standing in Australia as a weather tightness expert and a consultant in the design of cladding systems, but we wish to point out that we have had literally thousands of successful Volclay® projects completed without any hassles.

 
Here in New Zealand Allco Agencies Limited has successfully applied more than one million square metres of below ground tanking. The product will always work – we stand by that. Allco offers a specification service, design assistance and market leading onsite quality assurance led by our site inspector Adrian Crow (M.E.T.), and supported by our respected applicator network.

 
While it is true that Volclay® is used to extract sediment from wine (as referred to in Mr Bonaldi’s presentation), the product comes in many different grades with many different applications – much like concrete.

 
Besides conforming to ASTM International standards in the USA, Volclay® waterproofing is an accepted solution by BRANZ here in New Zealand and the BBA (UK). In addition, the product’s dominance of the waterproofing market over the last decade is in itself evidence of its effectiveness.
