EMSHIELD DFR2 (Deck Fire Rated 2-Hours) is a patent-pending single unit fire-retardant foam expansion joint which provides water protection and an effective fire barrier. EMSHIELD DFR2 is the first in a comprehensive line of breakthrough, multi-function, structural expansion joint materials being released by EMSEAL. DFR2 has been tested and certified by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) to the rigours of UL 2079. EMSHIELD WFR2 for walls has been released with an additional version for floors available soon.
Fire-retardant impregnated foam is factory pre-coated on the underside with an intumescent fire-proofing material. The traffic surface receives a traffic-grade silicone coating. The resulting composite is then factory compressed to less than its nominal size for installation into structural or other openings.
EMSHIELD DFR2 provides a watertight, clean handling, UV stable, non-staining, low temperature-flexible, high-temperature-stable, traffic durable and fire-rated joint seal in a single installation process.
For joints from 25mm to 100mm where ±25% (50% total) of nominal material size joint movement is expected.
